Featuring a re-designed pick, the REI Mountain II axe is an excellent value in a UIAA-strength basic ice axe. Features a newly-streamlined, positive-clearance pick for more efficient self arrest. Welded, chrome-moly alloy steel head is heat treated for optimum durability and hardness and magnetic-particle inspected for hidden defects. Beveled edges at pick and adze allow more efficient penetration and removal. Lightweight and strong aluminum alloy shaft features a durable enamel epoxy powder-coat finish.
