Winter Sales Associate

Share the stoke! Help folks get excited for the snowy season, and help them find ski and snowboard equipment that they'll love.

Responsibilities —

  • Work with customers to find equipment that they’ll love. Often you’ll be working with several customers at once.
  • Assist in ringing up customers at the cash register. 
  • Assist in restocking merchandise, keeping the shop clean, and other general shop tasks.

The ideal candidate will be —

  • Deeply familiar with either skiing or snowboarding, including the equipment needed. You're familiar with the brands, basic technologies, and basic fitting guidelines.
  • Enthusiastic for the outdoors. Customers walk away from interactions with you feeling excited to get out on the slopes
  • Emotionally Intelligent - You're very aware of how customers are feeling, and can pivot and react accordingly. Even though you know your stuff, you never come off as "better than you" or intimidating. Beginners feel completely comfortable chatting with you.

The Details —

  • Hours: Estimated 10-15 hours/week during the shoulder season, with additional shifts available during peak season (November - January). 
  • Availability: Must be available most Saturdays, as well as for a significant portion of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday breaks.
  • Duration: Seasonal, lasting through roughly February or March, depending on shop needs and personal performance.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs. 
  • Pay: $15-$18/hour, depending on experience

Senior Winter Sales Associate

  • Have previous ski shop experience, including a broad knowledge of brands and models, as well as basic boot fitting experience.
  • Enthusiastic for the outdoors. Customers walk away from interactions with you feeling excited to get out on the slopes
  • Emotionally Intelligent - You're very aware of how customers are feeling, and can pivot and react accordingly. Even though you know your stuff, you never come off as "better than you" or intimidating. Beginners feel completely comfortable chatting with you.

The Details —

  • Hours: 30-40 hours a week
  • Availability: Must be available most Saturdays, as well as for a significant portion of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday breaks.
  • Duration: Seasonal, lasting through roughly February or March, depending on shop needs and personal performance.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs. 
  • Pay: $17-$19/hour, depending on experience

Acquisitions Specialist

As an acquisitions specialist, your job is to keep our shelves stocked with the gear our customers expect, at prices that make everyone happy.

Responsibilities —

  • Interact with customers who are interested in selling their gear at Pando
  • Assess and price used gear
  • Place orders for new inventory from our brand partners
  • Periodically review sales trends, and update our pricing model to ensure items are not being priced too high or too low
  • Keep our inventory fresh by applying discounts where needed
  • Source high demand used items from our used gear partners
  • Help out with regular retail duties as needed

The ideal candidate will be —

  • Deeply involved in the outdoor community and familiar with the equipment needed for a variety of activities such as skiing, climbing, and biking.
  • Emotionally intelligent, able to help customers feel good about their visit even in situations where we can’t accept their gear.
  • Computer savvy, comfortable working with spreadsheets and fast with a keyboard
  • Able to focus in a high energy environment that may be full of distractions

The Details —

  • Hours: 20-30 a week
  • Availability: Must be available most Saturdays and Fridays
  • Duration: Seasonal, through roughly the end of March. Year round may be an option for the right candidate, with reduced hours during the summer. 
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Pay: $15-$18 depending on experience

eCommerce Listing Specialist

Responsibilities —

  • Pick items from our shop floor for listing online
  • Photograph items in our studio. Training provided, but familiarity with manual camera operations as well as Lightroom is helpful
  • Inspect items for damage
  • Write listing descriptions and fill in relevant details
  • Check listings for accuracy

The ideal candidate will be —

  • Both speedy and detail-oriented, able to quickly photograph and list items, while also meeting a high bar for quality and accuracy.
  • Computer savvy, fast and accurate with a keyboard, familiar with common keyboard shortcuts
  • Outdoor Expertise - You're well versed in at least one of the outdoor activities we support — skiing, snowboarding, climbing, cycling, camping, or paddling.

The Details —

  • Hours: 12-15 hours a week
  • Duration: Seasonal, through roughly the end of March. Year round may be an option for the right candidate, depending on business need and job performance
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs. 
  • Pay: Starting at $15/hour

Online Fulfillment Specialist

As an online fulfillment specialist, you’re responsible for fulfilling orders for our online customers, including finding the item in our shop, preparing it for shipping, and getting it in the mail. 

Responsibilities —

  • Prepare and ship orders for our online customers
  • During the shoulder season (expected to be before November and after January), assist with other miscellaneous projects to ensure the shop runs smoothly.

The ideal candidate will be —

  • Both speedy and detail-oriented, able to promptly ship all orders while ensuring they are accurate and packed with care 
  • Computer savvy, comfortable learning how we process orders, and fast with a keyboard

The Details —

  • Hours: about 15 hours a week, with opportunities for more hours from about October-January.
  • Availability: Must be available most Saturdays and Mondays
  • Duration: Seasonal, through roughly the end of February.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Pay: Starting at $15/hour

Senior Ski Technician

Help us keep our customers’ skis in top shape.

Responsibilities —

  • Assist in ski tuning projects, including waxing, base repair, and mounting.
  • Perform binding release tests to ensure proper binding function.
  • As needed, assist in prepping skis for shipping
  • During the shoulder season (expected to be before November and after January), assist with other miscellaneous projects to ensure the shop runs smoothly.

The ideal candidate will be —

  • Have prior experience with ski tuning in a professional environment, with recent certification from at least one binding manufacturer (recertification available)
  • Efficient and detail-oriented, able to efficiently complete customer projects, while maintaining high attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy of binding and other work.

The Details —

  • Hours: about 20 hours a week, with opportunities for more hours from about October-January.
  • Duration: Seasonal, through roughly the end of March.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Pay: $18/hour

Resident Expert

Already have a day job, but looking for an excuse to come hang out at Pando? Through our Resident Expert program, now you can make it happen. 

As a resident expert, you simply mingle with customers, help them find the perfect gear, share beta, and equip them with the knowledge they need for a successful outdoors experience. 

Having seasoned outdoor experts who have knowledge and experience beyond a typical sales associate is part of what makes Pando a special place for the community. We're incredibly grateful that you'd consider making Pando your after-hours hobby.

The Details —

  • Hours: 1-2 evening or weekend shifts per week
  • Duration: Our need is highest in November and December. Occasional shifts may be available before or after then.
