Two Ways to Sell

Pick the option
that works for you

Consignment

Earn more.
Wait for the right buyer.

We list your bike, field the calls, manage the test rides, and send you a Venmo or PayPal payment once it sells. You keep 60–80% of the sale price depending on the bike's value.

Quick Cash

Get paid in
48 hours.

For bikes valued under $500, we can make a cash offer. You'll get a PayPal, Venmo, or check payout in as little as 48 hours. It's less than you might earn on consignment, but it's quick and effortless, and one more thing off your plate.

Consignment Earnings

The more your bike is worth,
the more you keep.

Our commission scales down as your bike's value goes up, so you earn even more on high value bikes.

Sale Price Range You Keep Example
$300 – $499 Solid everyday bikes 60% of sale price $395 bike sells → You earn $237
$500 – $999 Quality trail and road bikes 70% of sale price $695 bike sells → You earn $487
$1,000+ Premium and high-end bikes Best Deal 80% of sale price $2,000 bike sells → You earn $1,600
$2,500 bike sells → You earn $2,000
Note on repair costs: Most bikes need only our complimentary basic tune before they're ready to list. If your bike needs additional work to meet our "ride-ready" standards, we'll give you a full quote before any wrench turns — no surprise deductions, ever. You can always say no.

For High-End Bikes

Full carbon? Pro-level groupset?
Your bike is safe with us.

Selling a $2,000+ bike privately is stressful — sketchy meetups, lowball offers, buyers who don't know what they're looking at. We do this every day, and we know how to find the right buyer at the right price.

When you consign a premium bike with us, you keep 80% of the sale price. On a $2,500 mountain bike, that's $2,000 in your pocket — with none of the hassle.

01

Collaborative Pricing

We research the market together and agree on a listing price before we post anything. If you think your bike is worth more than our initial appraisal, let's talk about it — your input matters.

02

Cross-Listed Everywhere

Your bike goes on our website, our retail floor, Facebook Marketplace, and KSL — anywhere you find serious buyers along the Wasatch Front, your bike will be there.

03

Showcased Properly

Quality photos, accurate component specs, honest condition notes. Your bike is presented to buyers the way it deserves to be — not buried in a sea of Craigslist spam.

04

We Handle Every Interaction

No negotiating with strangers. No scheduling test rides at a gas station. We vet buyers, manage all test rides in our shop, and handle payment processing end-to-end.

05

Pricing Management

We work with you on a pricing strategy that includes not only the starting price, but also a series of strategic discounts we can lean on if your bike isn't getting the traction it needs.

06

Paid via Venmo or PayPal

Once your bike sells, getting paid is simple, with options to take your earnings through Venmo or Paypal, or through a traditional written check.

The Process

Drop it off.
We do the rest.

1

Bring It In — No Appointment Needed

Just load your bike and come by during store hours. Our team will take a look and let you know if it's a good fit for consignment. No commitment required at this stage.

2

Free Appraisal Within 2 Business Days

Our mechanic performs a full inspection and we'll give you our recommended listing price, plus a quote for any prep work if needed. You decide whether to move forward — zero pressure.

3

We List It Everywhere

Once you're happy with the price, we prep your bike, photograph it, and list it across our website, retail floor. For higher value bikes, we also offer complimentary Facebook Marketplace and KSL listings, so no audience is missed. We handle all buyer questions and test rides.

4

You Get Paid

When your bike sells, we email you immediately and send payment via Venmo or PayPal. Prefer store credit? We can often do that right away — no need to wait for the sale.

Utah's Bike Shop

Proudly rooted in Provo.
Serving all of Utah.

We're local riders and mechanics based in Provo, Utah — and we're proud to be a destination for cyclists across the Wasatch Front and beyond. We regularly see sellers and buyers come in from Salt Lake County, Davis County, and beyond. If there's a great used bike to be found or sold in Utah, we want to be the place where it happens.

Our goal is simple: to be the most trusted marketplace for used bikes in the state — with the expertise, the reach, and the community relationships to back it up.

Not Local to Provo?

Worth the drive.

We've had riders make the trip from across Utah to sell or buy bikes with us — and we want to make sure it's always worth your time.

If you're buying from a distance, you can browse our inventory of used bikes before you come, and make the trip once you've found something worth riding home on.

Selling your bike? We need to see your bike in person before we can offer an official appraisal, but we'd be happy to give general guidance before you make the drive. Just send us photos and details about your bike before you hit the road, and we'll tell you whether it's likely a good fit and what general range of pricing you might expect.

Quick Cash Offer

Just want it gone?

For bikes we value under $500, we can make you a direct cash offer — no listing, no waiting for a buyer, no back-and-forth with strangers. Drop it off, we'll do a quick inspection, and you'll have cash in hand within about 48 hours.

Cash offers are intentionally straightforward: we price them so we can resell them, which means the offer will be lower than what you'd earn through consignment. But for the right bike and the right situation, it's a clean and easy way to turn an old ride into money.

Bike valued $100–$200 Typical offer: $25–$80

Depends on brand, condition, and current demand.

Bike valued $200–$300 Typical offer: $50–$120

Depends on brand, condition, and current demand.

Bike valued $300-$500 Typical offer: $90-$240

Depends on brand, condition, and current demand.

A note on Utah state requirements for cash purchases: To comply with Utah law, your bike must have a visible serial number in order for us to make a cash offer. Sellers will need to bring a valid photo ID and provide a fingerprint at drop-off. It's a quick, one-time step — and it's part of how we make sure every bike we buy has a legitimate owner. We think that's worth it, and we hope you do too.

What We Accept

What we're looking for

✓ Almost Always

  • Mountain, road, and hybrid bikes
  • Reputable bike-shop brands (Trek, Giant, Cannondale, Specialized, Fuji, etc.)
  • About 15 years old or newer
  • Resale value up to $4,000
  • Bicycle components and accessories in great condition (wheels, forks, dropper posts, apparel)

~ Sometimes

  • Specialty bikes: beach cruisers, BMX, fixies — usually a "no", but we sometimes make an exception
  • Vintage bikes: usually a "no", but if it's beautiful we'll sometimes make an exception

✗ Not Accepted

  • Department-store brands: Huffy, Mongoose, Schwinn, etc. If it can be purchased at Target, Walmart, or Amazon, we probably can't take it.
  • eBikes (due to insurance requirements, we're currently unable to keep these in the shop)
  • Bikes that need to be shipped (local drop-off only)
  • Bikes with compromising frame damage
We're so sorry we can't take everything! If your bike isn't accepted, consider donating it to our friends at Provo Bike Hub, so it can be refurbished and offered to the community at low or no cost. They aren't able to accept all bikes, but we can help you verify if yours will qualify, and if it does, you can leave it here at the shop.
Common Questions

Good questions deserve
straight answers.

Can you give me an estimate before I bring it in?

We can't give official appraisals without inspecting the bike in person, but we'd be happy to provide a general range of pricing you might expect, as well as some guidance on whether or not your bike might be a good fit for the shop. Email photos and details to hello@pandorefitters.com to get started.

What if my bike needs a lot of work?

All consigned bikes receive our complimentary basic tune. If your bike needs additional work, we'll give you a full written quote before we touch anything — you decide whether to proceed. Repair costs are deducted from earnings once your bike sells, or due upon pickup if you remove your bike from the consignment program. In some cases, the repair costs may not make financial sense given the bike's value, and we'll tell you that honestly upfront.

Can I set my own selling price?

Absolutely. If your preferred price is within a reasonable distance from our appraised value, we're happy to list it there. We'll share our market research and recommendation, but you have the final say.

What if I change my mind and want my bike back?

You can pull your bike out of the program at any time before it sells. Just note that you'll be responsible for any service work already performed — including the basic tune — before we can release it.

What if my bike doesn't sell?

With our marketing and pricing strategy, most bikes sell within 60 to 90 days during biking season. However, if yours is still here, we'll reach out to discuss options — whether that's additional price adjustments, giving it a little more time, or simply picking it up. We don't want your bike sitting on our floor indefinitely any more than you do.

Do you accept bikes that aren't in perfect condition?

Yes — bikes don't need to be perfect, just free from compromising frame damage. Mechanical issues can often be addressed as part of the prep process. If a bike can't be made sellable at a price that makes sense for you, we'll tell you before you commit to anything.

Ready to find your bike a good home?

No appointment needed. Just load it up and come by. We'll take a look and give you an honest assessment — no pressure, no commitment.
